Although English is the primary language there are still many people who either do not speak English or do not speak it very well. In the business world we can not wait around for them to learn English we have to learn it so that we can communicate with them. Learn another language can help you get a job that pays more money, and it can also help you make new friends. Those are some good reasons as to why people in America should study a foreign language. Most people do speak english but not all of them do. If they can understand you then you should be able to understand them. For instance if a spanish person needs medical help and you can't speak their language then they could be in bad shape. Also if you travel then you will need to know the countries language. Some would say. "I won't travel." but they don't account that they may have a job that requires them to travel. Like people who want to be in the military. Most police officers are required to know at least spanish. Also people who have jobs like plumbing, firefighting, and engineering usually deal with spanish people. So if you live in america chances are you ned to know at least spanish.
